William Cranford was raised in Kannapolis. He and his family attended First Presbyterian Church where he was a member of Boy Scout Troop 36. He earned his Eagle Scout at the age of fifteen from Troop 77 at Kimball Lutheran Church. William graduated in 1995 from Northwest Cabarrus High School. He went on to complete his Bachelor’s degree in 1999 at Western Carolina University with a major in Communications/Public Relations. After college William moved home and began his career with a local utility contractor.
He independently obtained his commercial contractor’s license, as well as, licenses in commercial building, heavy highway, and PU water sewer. William worked for Blue Ridge Development of Highpoint developing multi-family properties until 2006 when he started his own company Southern Site Solutions Inc., specializing in site work and development. In 2007, William married his high school sweetheart and welcomed their daughter in 2009. In 2011, William went to work for Shoe Show Inc., as Director of Development. He is currently in charge of developing commercial properties for Shoe Show and for lease around the United States. Shoe Show Inc., is also the largest employer in Kannapolis. William is excited to announce his candidacy for City Council based on his platform which will benefit Kannapolis. He is a determined leader with skills in communications, infrastructure and development that the City of Kannapolis could greatly benefit from with future growth.
